Work Behavior

What is Work Behavior?

Work behavior refers to the range of actions, attitudes, and habits an employee displays in the course of performing their job. It includes both task-related activities, such as meeting deadlines and completing assignments, and interpersonal conduct, such as communication style, teamwork, and professionalism.

Why Work Behavior Matters

Positive work behaviors, like reliability, initiative, and collaboration, contribute to a productive and healthy workplace culture. Conversely, counterproductive behaviors such as absenteeism, conflict, and disengagement can undermine team performance. HR professionals monitor and shape work behavior through performance management, coaching, clear expectations, and recognition programmes.
