Algorithmic Accountability
What is Algorithmic Accountability?
Algorithmic accountability is the principle that organisations using automated decision-making systems should be answerable for the outcomes those systems produce. In HR, algorithms are increasingly used for resume screening, candidate ranking, performance scoring, and workforce analytics. Algorithmic accountability requires that employers can explain how these systems reach their decisions, monitor them for bias or discriminatory outcomes, and take corrective action when harm is identified. Regulatory frameworks in several jurisdictions now require impact assessments for automated employment decisions.
