Ulrich Model

What is Ulrich Model?

The Ulrich Model, developed by Dave Ulrich, is a widely used framework that categorises HR activities into four distinct roles. These roles help HR professionals understand how they contribute value to the organisation and guide how HR departments are structured and staffed.

Why Ulrich Model Matters

The four roles are Strategic Partner, which aligns HR strategy with business goals; Change Agent, which drives organisational transformation; Administrative Expert, which ensures efficient HR processes and compliance; and Employee Champion, which focuses on employee engagement and advocacy. By balancing these roles, HR teams can move beyond purely administrative functions and position themselves as strategic contributors to the business.
