Training Needs Analysis
What is Training Needs Analysis?
Training needs analysis is a systematic process for identifying the gap between current employee capabilities and the skills or knowledge required to meet organisational objectives. It examines performance data, competency assessments, business goals, and stakeholder input to determine what training is needed, for whom, and at what level. A thorough training needs analysis ensures that learning and development investments are targeted, relevant, and aligned with business priorities. It typically operates at three levels: organisational, role or task, and individual, and informs the design and prioritisation of training programmes.
