What is Strategic Planning?

Strategic planning is the process of defining an organisation’s direction, setting priorities, and allocating resources to achieve long-term goals. HR’s role in strategic planning includes workforce analysis, talent gap identification, succession planning, and ensuring that the organisation has the human capital needed to execute its strategy. HR leaders contribute to strategic planning by providing insights on labour market trends, employee capabilities, organisational culture readiness, and the people implications of business decisions such as mergers, expansions, or restructuring.
