Outsourcing
What is Outsourcing?
Outsourcing is the practice of contracting a business function or process to an external third-party provider rather than performing it in-house. In HR, commonly outsourced functions include payroll processing, benefits administration, recruitment, training, and employee assistance programmes. Organisations outsource to reduce costs, access specialist expertise, improve service quality, or allow internal teams to focus on strategic priorities. Effective outsourcing requires clear service level agreements, robust vendor management, and consideration of how the arrangement affects employees, data security, and organisational culture.
