MBTI

What is MBTI?

The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is a personality assessment tool that categorises individuals into 16 personality types based on preferences in four dimensions: extraversion versus introversion, sensing versus intuition, thinking versus feeling, and judging versus perceiving. Developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Cook Briggs, the MBTI is widely used in workplaces for team building, communication improvement, leadership development, and career counselling. While popular in HR, the MBTI has been criticised by psychologists for limited scientific validity and reliability. It should be used as a discussion tool rather than a basis for employment decisions.
