KSAs

What is KSAs?

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) are the attributes required for successful performance in a particular role. Knowledge refers to the body of information an individual possesses, skills are the proficiencies developed through training and experience, and abilities are the innate or developed capacities to perform tasks. KSAs are used in job analysis, position descriptions, recruitment criteria, and performance evaluations. They provide a structured framework for defining what a role requires and assessing whether candidates or employees meet those requirements. KSA statements were historically required in US federal government job applications.
