Harassment
What is Harassment?
Harassment is unwelcome conduct based on a protected characteristic that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment. It can include offensive jokes, slurs, name-calling, physical threats or assaults, intimidation, ridicule, insults, or the display of offensive materials. Harassment becomes unlawful when enduring the conduct becomes a condition of continued employment, or when the behaviour is severe or pervasive enough to create a work environment that a reasonable person would consider hostile. Employers are responsible for preventing and addressing harassment through clear policies, training, and prompt investigation of complaints.
